The Holiday Season isn’t over with yet! We still have the New Year to kick off!! While hypnosis can be one of your strongest assets in controlling Holiday weight gain, it doesn’t hurt to start adopting a healthy approach to your food and drink choices. Here are some tips when choosing your Holiday cocktail:

Have a Game Plan 

Decide on your cocktail limit and be sure to have a light snack. You really don’t want that first drink to hit you harder than you’d imagined. You may also want to start the evening with a tall glass of refreshing water (sparkling or not). This way you’ll have addressed your thirst and not be expecting a cocktail to do the job for you.

Switch it Up

Try alternating alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (preferably low calorie). This strategy will keep you hydrated and you’ll thank yourself the following morning.

Choose Wisely

Choose wine, light beer, or simple cocktails with low calorie mixers. One tip: you can save hundreds of calories by simply opting for a diet soda mixer.

Dilute your Drink 

Wine spritzers are a great standby in this category. You can use club soda or sparkling water to dilute mixed drinks too. For example, if you like cranberry and vodka, use club soda, a splash of cranberry, and a squeeze of lime. 

Skip the Mixer Completely 

Ever wondered what makes those calories in alcoholic drinks add up? Mixers! While most cocktails start with only 1.5 ounces of liquor (at only 96 calories) by the time you add on those mixers (syrups and sodas) the end product can easily wind up containing hundreds of additional calories.
