So far so good….

You’ve become aware of and accepted all the great health benefits that can be yours once you’ve quit cigarette smoking.

You’ve identified the various therapies (including hypnosis) that are readily available to help you achieve success.

And you’ve laid out your plan and made the necessary arrangements before starting your quest to become cigarette free.

Now let’s get rid of those excuses. You know, those crippling enabling beliefs that will hold you captive in your present state. They’re not your friends and will only serve to sabotage your efforts. You may not even know you have excuses, let alone what they are. Here are a few of the more common excuses and why you really shouldn’t let them be relevant:

  1. Quitting cigarette smoking leads to weight gain. It’s true that nicotine can boost your metabolism so if you decide to actually eat a meal rather than skip it and smoke, you’ll probably gain a few pounds…. initially. However, there’s no reason for this to become an ongoing occurrence. If you remember in Holiday Weight Loss with Hypnosis there have been specific studies done proving hypnosis is highly effective, not only with regard to quitting smoking, but also in keeping the weight off at the same time.
  2. The damage is done. But if you read the April 6th post you already know that damage can be reversed
  3. It’s the only way to alleviate stress. It may be your present habit, but you can absolutely replace it with a better-for-you choice (and hypnosis can help here too).
  4. Nicotine products do as much damage as cigarettes without the enjoyable side effects. Cigarettes contain 4,000 other compounds (including at least 80 carcinogens). By substituting a regulated dose of nicotine for cigarettes you’ll immediately eliminate unnecessary toxins from your system

Do any of these excuses sound the least bit familiar? The big question is how to go about freeing yourself from them. Yet again, hypnosis may be your best choice.
